What exactly Shot Blasting?

Primarily Shot Blasting is a method used to clean metal surfaces. Shot blasting is used in nearly every industry that uses metal. For example aerospace, construction, fabrication and many others.

We use the air blasting method. this takes form of a blast room / blast cabinet where the blast media is propelled by air under very high pressure and projected onto the surface by a nozzle.

Different types of blast media is use dependent on what is being treated. Shot blasting for example is a very effective method of removing old paint, coatings and rust from metal items.

What type of shot do you use?

This all depends on what is to be cleaned by the shot blasting process. Each case is individual and we will be more that happy to discuss the options with you.

Do I have to have my item shot blasted prior to coating?

The simple answer is no. We offer shot blasting as a stand alone service so whether you require shot blast or powder coating you can be confident that you will receive a first class finish which ever you choose.
